Choose a foundationStart with a persona and the quality controls available to this project.
In Choose how your agent should help, pick a personality for tone and starting instructions. Then choose only from the response-quality tiers and Custom controls available to the project.
Make the job visibleTell visitors who this is, what it does, and how it appears.
Set the name, welcome message, and instructions. Choose display mode and colors, review the result, then save. First assistants open onboarding test chat; later ones open their detail page.
Test the visitor journeyUse normal questions and one request it should refuse or hand off.
Ask short real questions, vary the wording, and include an out-of-scope request. For a support assistant: “Do you repair cargo bikes?”, “What is your return window?”, and “Write my school essay.” Correct the knowledge or instructions, save, and rerun the same question.
- Visitors can recognize the assistant’s job
- A supported answer uses the intended knowledge
- An unsupported request is handled appropriately
- The playground test is recorded
