What you’ll accomplish

Know which settings belong to the business, the evidence, the visitor experience, and the page where it appears.

A confident model for structuring your first project

Think in four layers

Use separate assistants when the tone, knowledge selection, or widget experience should differ. Sources can still be processing while you configure; use Ready sources for dependable coverage. A playground test is the controlled chat you use before publishing.

Domains serve two different purposes

The primary project website identifies the business and is used when importing website knowledge. Allowed domains are where the widget may run. They are related, but not interchangeable: adding a primary website does not by itself authorize the widget on a page.

For example, a project for example.com might allow example.com and shop.example.com if both sites load the widget.

A safe way to structure your first project

Use one project for one business website, then add an assistant named for a single visitor job, such as “Support assistant.” Add only the knowledge it should use and test with real customer questions before copying the installation snippet.
