Review billing and project usage

For a project billed through Shopify, use Shopify project billing for approvals, shared capacity renewal dates and payment recovery. The billing-provider details below describe Paddle.

Open the target project and select Billing. This page is the customer-facing source of truth for the project’s current plan, cycle dates, measured usage, capacity review state, and any add-ons offered to that project. Allowances can change, so rely on the dashboard rather than copying plan numbers from documentation.

Review the current cycle

1. Confirm the cycleCheck Current plan plus its billing-cycle start and end dates.

   All meters are project specific.

   Message credits are visitor turns; indexed text is not source-file word count; Operator Units cover eligible Sidekick and MCP activity.

   Contact the appropriate account owner if an option is not offered.

Respond to a capacity review

If indexed knowledge capacity is reduced below current use, Billing can show a capacity review. Select the source scopes to retain, save the selection, and apply it only after confirming that essential policies, product information, and escalation material remain available. Archived content is removed from indexed availability; test affected assistants afterward.

Choose a plan or trial

Project creation includes a subscription step after the authorized creator accepts the current project agreement package. Free activation does not open Paddle. A paid plan or trial requires checkout and becomes effective only after provider confirmation. Closing or declining checkout grants nothing and leaves a safe retry path in the project subscription screen.

Purchase confirmation

An add-on or indexed-capacity return can briefly remain Confirming. Chat4U keeps checking the saved purchase automatically, so you can leave the page without opening a duplicate purchase. A verified one-time pack changes only that project's balance; verified indexed capacity changes its separate recurring capacity contract. Both return to Billing and never restart onboarding.

Change or cancel a subscription

Owners and administrators review a server-generated preview before changing a plan, cadence, or capacity contract. Paid cancellation normally stays effective through the displayed boundary. Ending a trial revokes charging actions immediately after Paddle confirms it. Payment methods, invoices, ordinary refunds, and transaction disputes use Paddle's authenticated management or support paths.

Add-ons and capacity

Message credits and Operator Units are one-time project-scoped grants. Purchased indexed capacity is a separate recurring subscription. Packs do not transfer between projects. If paid base access ends, retained pack balances remain auditable but unusable until eligible paid access returns; capacity follows its own verified cancellation state.

When Auto recharge message credits is offered in Settings → Add-ons, owners and administrators can opt in to automatic purchases of a selected package at a whole-number threshold from 1% to 15%. The percentage uses the cycle's total allowance, including purchased credits. Choose whether to pause after one package if still low or keep buying packages separately until above the updated threshold. Review the price, immediate-purchase notice and any Shopify extra-charge approval before enabling.

Turn off auto recharge stops purchases that have not started; an existing purchase can still complete. Recharge history shows each attempt and remains available while Off. See automatic recharge setup and recovery for both Paddle and Shopify.

Payment warnings and support

A past-due renewal receives one fixed 72-hour recovery episode. Repeated events do not extend it. Use Paddle for payment, invoice, tax, cancellation, ordinary refund, and dispute handling. Email support@chat4u.ai for product delivery, project access, entitlement, or technical problems. Never send card data or complete Paddle management links.

Limitations

• Usage and add-on availability are project-specific. A balance in one project is not a balance in another.
• The Billing page reports present entitlement and usage; it is not a promise of a particular future plan, price, or add-on.
• Add-ons and plan changes can affect future allowance or capacity behavior. They do not justify bypassing a current limit.
